Hi! Can you please tell me if it is an option to have 2 sessions of Smartterm open on the same pc? It was brought to my attention that our techs would like to utilize OLM as an electronic pending log in addition to the current OL but in seperate sessions, and minimize/maximize them as needed. I'm hoping we could manipulate the filtering criteria in a way that would allow OLM to act as an "ePending Log".

We wouldn't have the space to set up a 2nd pc and monitor, so our only option would be to utilize the equipment we already have. If you can't open multiple sessions on the same pc, could we install Smartterm on a different pc in the Lab and have it also project onto our existing monitor? Or does Smartterm need a dedicated pc? If so, I'm assuming we'd purchase a 2nd license? (sorry, I know I have a bunch of questions here!) Please advise. Thanks!

Yes it should work. Just make sure that in Advanced options, that 'Keep Smarterm Hidden' is NOT checked. Give it a try and if you have any problems let me know and I should be able to change it's behavior.

The box was unchecked. When I clicked on the OLM icon a second time I got:

Smarterm appears to already be running.
Title: Smarterm - [OLMonitor.stw]
If this program is not closed OLMonitor will take over the
current instance and close it when OlMonitor closes.
Do you want me to close this Smarterm now?
(You can restart Smarterm yourself and continue working normally in a few seconds after OlMonitor is finished initializing.)

If I can get this to work, can you explain how it will handle having 2 different sets of filtering criteria (will they have different names?). For example if we lose power during a outage and Smarterm needs to be restarted...if I click the OLM icon twice to open 2 sessions, how will I ensure that 1 session will have OL criteria and 1 session will have PL criteria?

never mind the above reply...... actually Eric, I misunderstood the tech. He was tossing around the idea of opening a session on a pc in the Core Lab and keeping it minimized while doing their work, then maximizing it periodically to check it and printing the screenshot.

I imagine it would require a new license (we already have two). Due to budget restrictions this probably isn't an option for us right now, so we will play with auto-printing PL's from Sunquest instead. Thanks Eric!
