I'm a new SQ Sys Admin and was tasked with the problem of filtering the PL based on patient location. Since that is not an option in SQ I thought I could use the OL Monitor exclude filter and somehow?? come up with a monitor or report that would work. Is it possible to build exclude filters that would then apply to the PL log? This new monitor would be called on demand and in addition to the one already in use. I welcome any and all ideas. Use small words when responding Laughing remember I've only worked with Sunquest a little while...

Hi Mary,
It is absolutely possible to build exclude filters that would apply to the PL log using Ol Monitor! Ol Monitor has an exceptionally flexible filtering capacity.
You can make a filter that screens out all the tests from unwanted locations.
Alternatively you could make a filter that lists all the desired locations and only shows tests from those specific locations.

Here is a filter that screens out unwanted locations:

You can get really specific and have combinations. You can have a filter that only shows 2 important locations, but also shows Cardiacs from PCU if they are greater than 20 minutes old.

So as you can see Ol Monitor is very flexible with the filtering. You can also have different colors per location and/or depending on how old the test is, optionally it's priority, etc.

Oh and you can have sorting and grouping of tests based on Location, Testname, Priority, Status... whatever.

Thank you, so how do I built this monitor and differentiate it from the one that runs all the time. In other words what would the Tech's have to do to call up this "new" monitor.
