OL_Monitor Visual Interface Module

*Looking for the Instructions?:   Ol Monitor VIM Manual

  • FINALLY! The Visual Interface Module brings all the features that simply were not possible within Smarterm!.
  • COLORS!   Now you can have the tests change color based on turn-around time, change the background color, and change the standard font color!

  • Change FONT Size, Type, and Style!  Cram as much information on one screen as possible or make the letters so big they can be seen from across the hall; it's up to you!
  • Super Easy Filtering: Designing filters, once an arduous task, can now be done with a simple right-click.  Complex filtering using and/or/unless criteria is now possible and is still much easier than before.

  • Super Easy Turn-around times: Setting up turn-around times that change the color of tests that are overdue and/or play an alert sound is now easier and more flexible than before.  You can specify a list of tests and priorities or just base it on priority, or a mix of both.
  • Easier option management: It's easy to manage multiple configurations with the new interface.  You can export your settings to a backup file for safe-keeping or distribute it to other installations.
  • The new interface has more room for the display and can be minimized, resized, and run in the background.
  • Your old settings will be preserved.  If you've invested a lot of time setting up your old OL_Monitor don't worry.  Most all of your settings will be imported and applied, including your old filters and sorts! (Turn around times will NOT be erased but will not be imported.)

Here is the main display.  You can see that tests can change color due to turn-around time.  The size of Font, font style, sizing, and placement of the columns are all customizable.

Sorting is now faster and a lot more flexible.  You can sort on any field.  The new 'simple sort' simply sorts the list in alphabetical/numeric order depending on which field you sort on.  The 'grouping sort' is the type of sort you are used to.  If you would like to make sure all tests from location 'ERU' appear at the top of the list you would type ERU in the field.

Note: Don't see your old sorts?  Don't worry they're still there and in fact are still being applied!  You'll need to load up your old version of Ol_Monitor to work with your old style sorts.

A simple right-click and you can filter out tests based on anything on the current display.  If you need more complex criteria later on you can tweak this filter from the options screen.

filt

You can choose which fields to display.  This would allow you to increase the size of the font so it can be read from a distance:

Options: Go to the options screen.
Autoscroll:  The display will automatically scroll down every few seconds.
Condense: Instead of displaying uncollected patients with a line for each test ordered, the program can condense it all into one line.  This saves a lot of space.  The information 'expands' when the specimen get's received.
Filters: You can see what your log looks like without any filters applied.
Reload with...: 2 choices here- Local machine settings are stored on the pc for everyone.  USER\xxx settings can be customized for every user.

opt

Complex filters are made easy with the new filter tool.  The filtering options are extremely flexible.  Below is a filter that excludes UA's or any tests from location 'OPC' unless they have a status of 'R':

filt

You can also still 'Filter In' by department code.
Note: Don't see your old filters?  Don't worry they're still there and in fact are still being applied!  However to work with your old filters you need to load up your old version of Ol_Monitor.

Turn-around-times are easier to set up, have a color option, and you can define specific sounds for each TAT!  If you want to keep it simple and just create a tat of say 30 minutes for ALL Emer's, you can just put and asterisk in the test box.  You can still define tat's for specific test(s).

The Misc tab holds all other settings.  Here you can define the display font, color, and size.  Choose which fields to display.  You can also choose where to save your changes (Local pc / current user).  You can import settings from a .REG file or backup your settings to a .REG file from here.
